The Bedenbaugh Family

Staci Bedenbaugh has contacted me a while ago about doing a family shoot for her in- law’s anniversary. So I jumped at the opportunity to do it! What a fun gift! Staci and the rest of the kids surprised the parents a week or so early so we could coordinate everyone’s schedules and what to wear and the parents loved it! (Good job, Staci!!)

The shoot took place at the parent’s home in Lake Butler, Florida. They live right next to the most beautiful road and a huge hay field. By far my new favorite location ever! You don’t find too many hay fields in Jacksonville. You find beaches in Jacksonville and even that’s a drive.

They were such a sweet and beautiful family who were up for anything to make a picture–including running on the incredibly high rolls of hay. (I was way more nervous about falling off than they were.) Love them!

The Warren Family

The Warren family was my first family for my Mini Christmas Sessions! And what a beautiful family to start with! (I'm beginning to wonder if I'm spoiled with gorgeous clients!) As soon as I saw Abbi in her teal tutu, I knew this was going to be fun! And of those curls... I could not get enough of Abbi's sweet curls! And Davis. I loved him. Such a trooper letting his sister kiss his check twice for photos. Everyone needs a big brother like Davis. You could tell he secretly really loved his little sister, even though who wouldn't admit it.

Thank you, Warren Family, for being so sweet with your smiles, so willing to get wet in the waves, so willing to stick it out through the hot sun, and for just being you guys. You were wonderful in every way!

Check out the slideshow below for their photos!

Marlee's A Senior

Marlee is a beautiful girl who I had the privilege of working with this past weekend. She was so much fun and up for anything, which all photographers love!! And seriously, could she get any prettier? I told her that my 5'4" self greatly envied her long legs. She was such a great girl to work and I can't wait to see where God takes her after her senior year! When we first got to the shoot we were afraid of the horrible rain surrounding all of downtown where we were. But thankfully, the rain held up and went around downtown long enough for us to get some gorgeous shots of Marlee! Check out the slideshow below for some of my favorites! Enjoy!

Katy & Andrew

Meet Katy and Andrew. Andrew is my little brother and he also second shoots with me. Katy is Andrew’s girlfriend and sometimes shoots with me as well when she is not at school or shooting at Cady & Cady Studios. They wanted some photos of the two of them and since the last time we did this was about two years ago, it was time.

Below are some of my favorites!

Suns Game

My mom suggested the idea of the Suns Game. She thought it would be a fun family experience, so being the dedicated children we are, we went. And she was right, it was actually a lot fun.

It was Fan Appreciation Night. If you bought a $2.00 program you could turn it in in exchange for a “prize.” The prizes were coupons for a ton of restaurants, tanning beds, golf, Dicks, etc. My dad actually ended up with a ton of gift cards to Copeland’s. So the $2.00 programs were a good investment. There were fireworks after the game, which are always my favorite!

I can’t tell you much about the game except no one scored until the final inning and it wasn’t the Suns. But maybe it’s because I was too distracted by the man behind me who was trying so desperately to be on camera dancing. Every time there was a break with a song playing, he would stand up and dance as hard as he could in hopes of attracting the camera man around him. He was with his overly embarrassed daughter who actually put it up with his dancing until he finally got on camera. Of course our entire section cheered for him which seemed to only fuel his dance moves. And it wasn’t until he saw he was on camera and leaned down to kiss is daughter – on camera – that she really showed the embarrassment. That poor girl was as red as a tomato. Not too concerned with her embarrassment, he continued to dance as long as that camera was on him. Now if the $2.00 programs with coupons and family time weren’t enough to call it a good night, the Dancing Dad definitely was.

Mom and Dad.

The ever so lovely Andrew and Katy.

House Arrest and Straws

I love my husband. He takes such good care of me each and every day. And this week I have been sick. I've had the head cold, sore throat, fever, cough, and aches all week. And I sound like I'm going through puberty thanks to my sore throat and stuffiness. So he has been spoiling me with back rubs and water bottles with colorful straws. (Love colorful straws!) And yes those two things are truly helping me recover.

I don't like staying home from work. If I stay home from work one day I usually spend the next morning playing catch up on my emails. (I just checked my emails and I have 75 so tomorrow might be a long morning. lol) So I try avoid staying home as much as I can. I managed to go into work for a half day on Monday and Tuesday. By Tuesday night I had a high fever and wasn't moving from the couch. That's when Paul put me on house arrest. I was stay in bed, sleep, and take my medicine. This morning he didn't even wake me up except to tell me goodbye and that he loved me. Maybe he thought I'd try to go in? Anyways, I followed his rules and I have to admit, I actually feel better. So maybe my husband does know best in this case. And while I'm sure the resting and medicine did help, I have to admit the colorful straws certainly had a big impact in my healing process.

Jordan & Oana's Wedding

My husband and I shot the most unique wedding I’ve ever seen. And it was a blast! The couple had been dating for over a year and decided to make the next big step and get married! A quick wedding was the way to go since the groom was leaving to serve our country in Afghanistan. The groom’s side of the family had never met the bride in person since they live in Italy. (Yes, Italy!!!) So they all decided to do a fun wedding day/vow renewal for all the family here in the states. Now the bride and groom, Oana & Jordan, are not your typical bride and groom. Her dress was red and black and all the guys wore kilts. Love it! And the bride was stunning in her dress. Not to mention she used to be an Italian model. (Hello!)

They were the sweetest couple I’ve met and truly in love. She teared up when she first saw him and cried through the ceremony. And he could not keep his eyes off her. You can tell they were head over heels in love! It was so nice to see that even after being married a while, the passion and romance is still there.

Jordan & Oana decided to still do a First Look since they had no idea what the other was wearing. It was so cute to see her nervous about seeing him! She couldn't wait! Of course Jordan thought she was beautiful.

The ceremony was in the lobby of the Hampton Inn & Suites in Amelia Island. They said their vows on a staircase for everyone in the lobby to see. It was simply beautiful.
