Svetlana & Dimitry

She didn't want to go out that night despite everyone's begging. She finally gave in. Best decision she ever made because there he was, starring right at her. And she smiled knowing tonight would be okay.

Two and a half weeks later she was back home in America and Dimitry was home in Russia. Those two and half weeks went so quickly but she knew he was special to her. And as for Dimitry, he called to let her know exactly how he felt - completely and utterly in love. They took it slow and kept in touch as good friends, him constantly fighting for her, and Svetlana continuously reminding him of her steady answer, "no." But he didn't give up. Three years later, she said yes. She couldn't stand it any longer and gave in to her feelings. She loved him. She got on a plane and flew right to him in Russia and they were married.

But their story doesn't end their. With her job and family, she had to fly back home with her new husband. But he can't get in to the states and had to stay behind. One year later of waiting and praying, he is finally with her again. Through it all they only grew deeper in love.

As I talked with Svetlana today, she told me this: "I've never been sure of anything in my life. Then I met him. He's my blessing and joy. If I'm sure of anything, it's Dimitry."

Svetlana & Dimitry decided to have a wedding here in the states for her family. I can't wait to be a part of this special moment soon!

Reagan & Will

A sweet friend of mind introduced me to her best friend, Jess, and her two children, Reagan & Will. And I loved them. Everything about them was fun, genuine, exciting, and just loving. And really what more could you ask for from a family session?
And Reagan is completely captivated with her big brother and all his silliness! She will sit and just watch him – completely unphased by the fact that Will is having to adjust from rough and tough to soft and gentle with her. Even though Will is still adjusting to a baby in the house, it’s obvious he’s going to be a great big brother!

And we had to get their great grandma in on the photos!

Baby Joshua

Back in December I was able to do Sarah’s maternity session and knew how much they loved their little guy then. But now their hearts have exploded with love and passion for baby Joshua! Exhausted or not, Sarah is truly a beautiful little mommy. And she loves that boy more than my words would begin to describe. And as for dad, Joshua will definitely have him wrapped around his finger!

Baby Braxton

This family is very special to me since they were one of my first clients and have supported me through all of it! And not only that but this sweet big sister was my first newborn session! And now we are photographing her baby brother Braxton. Braxton is just as stinkin’ cute as Brookelynne was when she was a newborn! Momma taught Brookelynne well when it comes to taking pictures with me. She’s always smiling and hamming it up for the camera. So it was easy to capture that sweetness she has for her new baby brother.

Andrew & Katy's Engagement

Okay because my brother is in engaged and his sister (and fiance!) are photographers, he will totally be taking advantage of me for photos. But I love them both and I love photos so I'm all for it! Although I'm pretty sure we will be doing one for every season... :)

So here is their first of I'm sure many engagement sessions! We visited my family in West Virginia every December and so we had to shoot in the snow!

Ah yes - that's the Andrew & Katy I know best!
