Andrew & Katy are Getting MARRIED

Yes you read it right! My baby brother and his girlfriend of 4 1/2 years are finally engaged! My family couldn't be more excited to have Katy officially almost family!

She thought should would be taking pictures of my brother and I as a gift for my mom for Christmas. Little did she know... we totally had a different plan! I offered to shoot a photo of Katy and Andrew so Andrew could have a new facebook picture. And that she was completely for. And below are her new facebook photos :)

Andrew wasn't done with surprises yet. To celebrate, we went to P.F. Changs for dinner with my parents. There Andrew had special fortune cookies brought out that said "I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you! I love you, Katy!" Okay, can he be any more romantic? My mom and I taught him well!!

Sarah & David are Expecting

Sarah & David are expecting their first child in 2011. And they are so excited to be having a boy! It's amazing to see how much they love this little guy and he's not even here yet. He will definitely have truly wonderful parents.

Sarah, you are going to make such a beautiful little mommy!

I'm in love with this shirt and I totally want one when I'm pregnant. (Don't worry mom and my boss - you still got at least ten years lol)

Photographing Moments

I came across this quote today:

“Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever... it remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything.”

And then I remembered why I love this job. Because I am allowed to photograph those little things -

Those looks from your future wife
Those smiles from your husband when he can't help but look at you
Those tears from a mom when she dances with her only son
Those giggles from your kids when they are supposed to be sitting still
Those kisses shared between a new wife and her husband
Those smiles from a new mom when she looks at her sweet baby only a few days old

I don't know why I get to do this - I'm nothing but a girl who thought shooting would be a fun thing to do one day. (And no matter what God has in store for me, I will probably always think that.) Little did I know the importance photos actually have until I read that quote. And while I now feel all the pressure in the world to do a good job, I'm more humbled to know that I am a part of very special moments in my clients lives. And they want me to be there - to photograph all those little things.
